FREEZE YOUR WAY TO A BETTER LIFE

Cryo_001[1].jpg

Cryotherapy literally means  "cold treatment".  Whole Body Cryotherapy involves stepping into opened top chamber, where the body is exposed to a short duration of extreme temperatures, igniting a flight or fight response, and a release of endorphins. The body then begins to repair and heal the weak areas of the body, reducing inflammation, and providing a number of health benefits.

What should I expect?

A three minute session that can be stopped short if needed where the last 30 seconds will feel the coldest. It is a dry nitrogen vapor that will cool the entire body.

How does Cryotherapy work?

The Cryosauna uses gasiform nitrogen to lower the client’s skin surface temperature by 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit over a period of two-three minutes. The Cryochamber is cooled using liquid nitrogen but clients are not in direct contact with the gas. The skin reacts to the cold and sends messages to the brain that acts as a stimulant to the regulatory functions of the body. It produces the scanning of all areas that may not be working to their fullest potential. The skin’s exposure to the extreme temperatures also trigger the release of anti-inflammatory molecules and endorphins.

How often can I do Cryotherapy?

Depending on the condition of treatment, you should initially take 5-10 treatments in close succession to maximize your results.  After that you can do fewer treatments, spaced further apart to maintain and improve on your results. One to two times a week is recommended at this point.

What do I wear in the Cryosauna?

Clean socks, gloves, and boots will be provided to everyone upon arrival and must be worn. Men need to wear one of the following: boxers, compression shorts, or wrap a towel around waist (towels are provided if needed). Women can wear undergarments, but it is not necessary. The important factor to remember is wearing DRY undergarments. Ask for towel if needed.

What are the risks of whole body Cryotherapy?

Whole body Cryotherapy is very well tolerated and has minimal risks: Fluctuations in blood pressure during the procedure by up to 10 points systolically (this effect reverses after the end of the procedure, as peripheral circulation returns to normal), allergic reaction to extreme cold (rare), claustrophobia, anxiety, activation of some viral conditions (cold sores) etc. due to stimulation of the immune system.
